Love in Copious Showers

All this time she had waited

for the rains to come

It was never easy

to find shade

from the blistering rays of the sun

Now she’s come to know

… him

And learn what it can mean to be

free from fiery blaze

and gain respite

from life’s sweltering misery

A soothing whisper of long awaited

moisture

over the dusty, arid land

Because he remains

the rain cloud

that brings copious showers

upon her life’s scorching desert sand

  1. Beautiful poem. I can imagine the cold drops immediately turning into fumes when they first touch the scorched sand. Eventually, the land will no longer be harsh on the rain drops and it will be deluged in the copius showers. 🙂
