Secret inhibitions

And now I wear a crimson smile
Heated from the memory of you

I hold my breath so as not to sigh
For yearnings that can never be true

I have to fight the desire inside
From a sinful birth that grew

Why are these emotions even alive
If out of my veins they are blue?

Go away and let me cry
For a memory my unfaithful heart drew

Then leave that heart to die beside
My Forever, that almost might have been with you
