They Speak

There's a stillness that surrounds
It speaks eternity
And tell the stories of lives before
Little ones may have ran through that door

The broken window
Once opened to the sound of ladies' chatter
Or the scent of a cigar among friends
But soon brought to an end
Life died, but the curtains still now blow
With the laughter of forever

These dilapidated walls
Would whisper to you now
Of that time of times past
Only in a memory do they last
The emotions, dreams and once told secrets
Beckon your mind's curiosity
And you must listen, for
THEY SPEAK!
